The Calphalon ONE Infused Anodized 8.5qt Saucier is the ultimate dutch oven and so much more. Constructed of heavy gauge aluminum for superior conductivity. Features Calphalon's revolutionary & patented infused surface that cooks like a a traditional pan but cleans up like a breeze. We have taken our tradtional hard anodized surface and infused a polymer similar to nonstick into it's pores- creating a surface that is a combination of both properties. Essentially you are cooking on metal and polymer- so food still sticks enough that you get incredible searing and browning, but releases easily for simple clean up. This is not a nonstick pan, you still need to use fats or oils when you cook, but not much- just enough to coat the pan. The surface is metal utensil safe and can go into the broiler to a temperature of 700 degrees F! Clean up is easy, generally just soapy water and a sponge, but to keep your pans looking perfect we recommend using "Bar Keepers Friend" and a green "Scotchbrite" nylon pad- inside and out (both can be found inexpensively in most grocery stores). My Favorite Pan! (2010-09-27)
I love this pan! It's deep and wide, yet still not too big for the stove. It's great for cooking for my family of 7. Easy clean up too. Calphalon has quickly become my favorite. My girlfriend bought one soon after I did, after seeing how easy it is to clean. Great for cooking large amounts.

I've had this pot in my kitchen for over ten years, and it is still my most valuable piece of cookware. I cook constantly, and I have cooked all things imaginable in this Dutch oven, and it still works well. About 50% of the surface coating has worn off the interior cooking surface, but everything else has held up, no loose handles. The pot is wide enough to open a collapsing steamer bin completely, so it is great for steaming.
The cover is heavy and is a standard size that can be used for other cookware.

Fantastic Dutch oven (2010-08-15)
I was looking for a dutch oven, preferably Calphalon, I have been replacing all the cookware with Calphalon. It is wonderful, I used it to make a huge amount of beef soup, I love it. It is quite large but fits on my stovetop very well. The lid fits so nicely, no drips down the side of the pan. So easy to clean too.
Thank you Calphalon. Love that it is great for the oven, plan to make chicken and other oven roasted meats. Where was Calphalon when my children were growing up. I am 79 and love cooking. I plan on buying more Calphalon to complete my collection.
My favorite pot (2010-02-27)
I purchased this dutch oven a few years back at Macys. Love it and make my spaghetti gravy in it. Decided I wanted another as a backup and purchased this at Amazon. I also make soup and stir frys. Rather than use a frying pan I use this and don't get the grease splatter all over the place.

All metal handles that withstand high oven heat in ways other more expensive brands do not. Surfaces are as they advertised. This dutch oven is SOLID and STURDY.

One thing to note; this item does not have the heavy mass a cast iron dutch oven does. It is not a better or worse issue; it is just is what it is.
It has withstood burial in coals completely unmarred or discolored. It has produced great loafs of bread and some incredible, evenly cooked stews. A slow cooked braised roast and a full beef brisket have both been cooked to tender perfection in this dutch oven.
